Creating Gardens with a
Comfortable Sense of Care

I believe a garden is never truly “finished.”
It changes over time, growing and evolving with the seasons and the people who live alongside it.

Some gardens are carefully tended every day.
Others are enjoyed more naturally and freely.
What matters most is finding a comfortable relationship with your garden — one that feels sustainable and natural for your lifestyle.

My role is to help shape and nurture that connection together with you.

Based in Christchurch, New Zealand, I work as a garden designer and illustrator, creating spaces inspired by nature, daily life, and the passing of seasons.

My journey with plants began in a small bonsai shop in Tokyo, Japan.
From there, I went on to work with a traditional landscape company with over 100 years of history, contributing to a wide range of projects including private gardens, commercial spaces, and rooftop gardens.

Over the past 25 years, I have been involved in many aspects of garden making, while also hosting lectures and workshops for garden designers across Japan to share the beauty and philosophy of gardens and plants.

Today, my work includes garden design, maintenance, learning sessions, workshops, and illustration — all centered around connecting people with nature in meaningful and approachable ways.

If my work resonates with you, please feel free to get in touch.
