GARDEN IDEAS SESSION

A practical, one-to-one session to help you make the most of the garden you already have.
We’ll walk through your garden together and look at what to keep, what to prune or remove, where a few new plants could make a difference, and how to care for what you already have.
The focus is on simple, practical improvements that will help your garden look more balanced and beautiful — without redesigning the whole space.
1-hour Garden Ideas Session — $230 incl. GST
For changes to the layout or structure of your outdoor space, Garden Design may be more suitable.
GARDEN & PLANTING DESIGN
Survey → Design → Detail
For gardens that need a more considered transformation, I develop thoughtful design plans for the structure and planting of your garden — either individually or as a complete garden design.
This may include reshaping garden beds, adjusting lawn and planted areas, working with existing plants, and selecting and positioning new plants to create a garden that feels balanced and grows beautifully over time.
Concept Design — from $1,200 + GST
Planting Design — from $800 + GST
Complete Garden & Planting Design — from $2,000 + GST
Final pricing will depend on the size and scope of your garden.
Additional site measuring fees may apply where suitable existing plans are not available.

Garden Installation
Expert Planting, Thoughtful Preparation & Skilled Garden Making
PLANTING & GARDEN MAKING
Bringing planting plans and garden ideas to life through skilled, hands-on garden installation.
From preparing and reshaping garden beds to sourcing and planting plants, adding mulch and making small garden improvements, I can help turn the design into an established garden.
Careful planting makes a real difference to both how a garden looks and how well it establishes. Plants are positioned and planted with consideration for their natural form, growing conditions and future development. With trees and larger shrubs, I also consider their best viewing side, branch structure and direction of growth, so they sit naturally and beautifully within the garden.

Garden Care
Creating beautiful garden compositions through thoughtful plant care.
SPECIALIST GARDEN CARE
Thoughtful, hands-on care for established gardens, with a focus on roses, perennials, naturalistic planting, shrubs and seasonal container displays.
From pruning and seasonal care to refreshing and reshaping planting, I look at your garden with both a gardener’s knowledge and a designer’s eye — considering how plants work together, where the balance could be improved, and how the planting can be shaped to look its best over time.
Rather than simply maintaining what is there, I work with the natural character of each plant while making thoughtful adjustments to help the whole garden feel more balanced, cohesive and beautiful.
If you’d like to be involved, we can also work together so you can learn more about your plants and how to care for your garden with confidence.
$45 + GST per hour
Minimum booking: 3 hours
Travel, green waste disposal and materials are charged separately where applicable.
Workshop
Kusa Bonsai & Kokedama Workshop
BEGINNER WORKSHOPS
Relaxed, beginner-friendly workshops where you can enjoy creating with plants and take home something of your own.
These workshops are offered through KOU – A Touch of Joy, a collaborative project by Bright Side Garden and Fuji Works.
BOTANICAL WORKSHOPS & DEMONSTRATIONS
More in-depth workshops and demonstrations exploring Japanese plant arts, seasonal plants and botanical composition, with a focus on plant selection, materials, design and ongoing care.
Presented by Bright Side Garden, these sessions can also be arranged for garden clubs, organisations and events.
